Westoak Studio is a 28-acre hilltop property, with meadows, Douglas Fir forests, a 2900-sq-ft studio, house, and barn. It's also a production cooperative that supports creatives in realizing both private and commissioned projects. Westoak excels in creating a setting for developing and nurturing talent in photography, graphic & web design, creative direction, brand strategy, film and still production, digital and social media marketing and development, product development, books, & licensing. The principals of Westoak Studio are Kendra Barber and Bert Kay.
Kendra Barber is a fashion photographer drawn towards editorial and beauty work.
Her work is inspired by striking structures and architectural forms, by the interplay between strong light and shadow, and by a fierce competitive nature. Barber finds that themes of hard work, competition, and rising against difficult odds inform her work as much as do the strong thematic structures of the wardrobe, the settings, or the models and makeup she chooses to display. Equally at home in studio or on location, Kendra can often be found shooting on the beaches, riverbanks, hilltop farms or in the Douglas fir forests or her native Pacific Northwest.
Though she is available worldwide, Kendra Barber makes her home just outside the Portland, Oregon metro area.
Light is the primary obsession for any professional photographer, and it's certainly that way for Bert Kay. His perfect photography day is one spent exploring new light and new locations with a great subject, but he's also leaned to excel at delivering what clients need. He's equally adept on location with natural light or in studio.
Bert lives on a hilltop farm in Oregon Wine Country, surrounded by the lush northwest forest and abundant nature that inspires his personal work, where themes of environment and ecosystems sneak in to flavor even his editorial work.
Bert has traveled and is available for travel worldwide.
